Plants of Iceland: Tanacetum vulgare, Tansy, Regnfang

Tanacetum vulgare; The Tansy is a non-Icelandic species that has been introduced in local gardens and is now also found in urban regions on waste grounds, road-sides and dump areas. Typically it is a daisy-species that lacks ray flowers on the inflorescences (flower heads). In Europe in traditional medicine it is regarded to be a plant usefull for treatment against intestinal worm-infections.
It is a member of the Asteraceae family (= Compositae ), the daisy family. The Icelandic name of this species is Regnfang.
