Saxifraga cernua; the drooping saxifrage is grows on rocky grounds mainly in northern regions of Iceland including the highlands. In the southwest a few local spots are known where they grow The ivy-shaped leaves are characteristically. Also typical for this plant is that it forms bulbils on the flowering stem below the flower. They are red coloured along the stem and white at the base. It is a member of the Saxifrage family (Saxifragaceae). The Icelandic name of this species is Laukasteinbrjótur.
