Ranunculus trichophyllus; The Thread-leaved Water-crowfoot is a water plant. It grows in all regions of Iceland in shallow calm waters with little or no water flow. The submerged thread-leaves and the whitish buttercups protruding from the water surface characterizes this plant. The white flowers have a characteristic yellow center.
It is a member of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). The Icelandic name of this species is Lónasóley.
