FLORA OF ICELAND elements: Artemisia vulgaris, Mugwort, Malurt

Artemisia vulgaris; The Mugwort is an introduced weedy species. On Iceland it is only found near human settlements and dump places. The flowerheads are small and dull but appear in large quantities on single plant. Although it is an annual it can easily grow up to 1m50cm, even on Iceland.
It is a member of the Asteraceae family (= Compositae ), the daisy family. The Icelandic name of this species is Malurt.
